Any waxed arena surface consist of chemicals (commonly a by-product of oil refining) these chemicals could contaminate water streams. The viscosity of the chemicals added is highly depending on temperature.
Low temperature will result in a hard surface and high temperature will result in a soft and sometimes sticky surface.
